How to Become a Cutter:
In order to become a Knife Competitor, mainly known as a Cutter, one must do the following simple steps.
1. Become Certified
BladeSports offers multiple training schools for those interested in the sport to attend and achieve his or her certificate. Personal training is also offered by BladeSports certified instructors in order to obtain a certification. Without a certificate though, anyone interested in taking part in cutting competitions will not be allowed to participate.
2. Find a Cutting Knife
After becoming certified, a cutter must have a knife meeting the Knife Regulations. Schools provide their own knives to use and also allow certified competitors to borrow them for knife competitions.
Purchasing a cutting knife can be expensive, but BladeSports does not require you to personally own your own. After becoming certified, borrowing a knife is a resourceful alternative while starting out in this exhilarating sport.
3. Find an Event
BladeSports hosts many competitions throughout the year and all over the United States. All of the upcoming events and their details are listed on the Upcoming Events page. Feel free to check out the Standings page to see previous event locations, which often reoccur in the same places each year.
If you have any questions regarding how to become certified, borrowing or purchasing a cutting knife, or about events, please email any of the board members whose emails can be found on the Contact page.
