BladeSports is now using a weighted system to score its events. It is based on the number of cutters attending the event. The new system uses the same numbers as the old system. The winner of each BladeSports cutting competition receives 180 points. The runner-up receives 170. From there, the point total declines in five point increments for finishers 2-6; points drop four points per cutter for finishers 7-11; and three point increments seperate cutters' points for finishers 12-28. The difference is these numbers are multiplied by the number of cutters in attendance at the event in decimal form. i.e.: a competition with 6 cutters would be scored by taking first place and multiplying 180 by 1.06, which would equal 190.8, so this would be the first place finishers score. The rest of the places would be figured the same way. An event with 12 cutters would be multiplied by 1.12. So the winner would be figured as 180 x 1.12= 201.6. Each subsequent place would use the same multiplier for that event..
